We are committed to supporting students’ academic persistence by supplementing classroom education with career readiness and development experience. We will increase student engagement through collaborations with faculty. We strive to expand student access and success in high-demand industries.
What is Career Trek?
Career Trek allows students to spend a day immersed in the work environment of a participating employer’s organization. This hands-on experience is designed to boost student and employee engagement by giving students a realistic glimpse into potential career paths. By connecting students directly with employers, the program enhances their understanding of workplace dynamics and industry expectations.

FAQ
Over the span of a semester, we estimate a time commitment of about 5 hours:

- 1 hour orientation or virtual meeting with program staff
- 4-hour job shadowing half-day
Even if you don’t know what job you’re interested in, you can still benefit from job shadowing. Job shadowing provides an opportunity for career exploration through learning about different opportunities in each industry.
